The Clemson Tigers are any team which represents Clemson University as a member of the Atlantic Division or the NCAA ’s Division I of the Atlantic Coast Conference. The athlete’s director is at present, Terry Don Philips. It is said that in 1896, football coach Walter Riggs came to Clemson and admired the Princeton Tigers. Hence, he gave Clemson the Tiger mascot. There are 19 varsity teams here at the Tigers.
