Hopsewee Plantation is a very famous landmark in Edisto Island built in the memory of Thomas Lynch Junior who was one of the motivators in the Declaration of Independence in Edisto Island. It was built almost fifty years before the Revolutionary War occurred. The place is covered by dense vegetation and greenery thus making it an attraction for tourists. It is now well known as a National Historic Landmark because of its historical importance.
