Florence is one of the largest cities, situated in the Florence County, South Carolina in United States of America. The city is considered to be a part of the Florence Metropolitan Statistical Area.
The city is located at a distance of 130 km to the east of Columbia (capital of South Carolina), 110 km to the west of Myrtle Beach and 175 km to the south of Charlotte. According to the 2000 census the population in the city was found to be around 30,248 which has increased to 30,962 as per the census measured in 2005.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town is supposed to have a total area of about 17.7 square miles, out of which 17.66 square miles is covered by land and only 0.04 square miles is under water.
The city has well developed transportation facilities for roadways, railways as well as airways. Florence is supposed to be the dwelling of Judaism Beth Israel Congregation that was integrated in the year 1912.
The city has a pleasant climate throughout the year with modest snowfall in the month of February.
