Greenville is the seat of Greenville County in South Carolina, USA. Located at the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, the city covers an area of 67.7 sq km and has a population of around 57,000.
Greenville has a mild climate. Summer temperatures range from 20°C to 30°C, while winter temperatures range from 1°C to 10°C.
Known as the Textile Centre of the World, the city offers many shopping opportunities and is the business centre of the Upstate region. It also has many avenues for entertainment and family recreation. It boasts of a nationally-acclaimed downtown area that is lined with public artwork and hosts a number of festivals.
Greenville is surrounded by rugged mountains, cascading waterfalls and streams. Falls Park on the Reedy River houses many gardens and waterfalls along with the Liberty Bridge overlooking the river.
