The city of Hartsville is located in the CDarlingtonounty of South Carolina in the United States of America. The city is considered to be a part of the Florence Metropolitan Statistical Area hence it is a census designated town of South Carolina. The city is located at a distance of 2 miles to the west of Darlington, 14 miles to the east of Mcbee and 21 miles to the south of North Hartsville. According to the 2000 census the population in the city was found to be around 7,556. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town is supposed to have a total area of about 5.0 square miles, of which the entire area is covered by land and none of it is under water. The climate is hot in the summer season when temperature tends to rise to 26 degrees and cold in the winters when temperatures tend to fall to 4 degrees. The warmest month is July whereas the coldest month is February.
