Tourist Guide Hilton Head
Hilton Head is a town located on the island of the same name situated off the coast of Savannah in South Carolina, USA. The town covers an area of 108 sq km and has a population of around 40,000.
The town of Hilton Head, situated in Beaufort County, was incorporated as a municipality in 1983. Most of the population consists of native islanders, many of whom are descendents of freed slaves.
Hilton Head has a mild climate. Summers are warm with temperatures ranging from 21°C to 31°C. Winters are mild with temperatures ranging from 3°C to 15°C.
The town has easy access to the beachfront on the Atlantic Ocean. Named as one of the top ten family beaches in the country, it attracts many tourists every year. The town has a beautiful natural landscape consisting of native pine and oak trees. With manicured golf courses, Hilton Head is one of the preferred golf destinations in the state.
