Myrtle Beach is located in the county of Horry in South Carolina, USA. In 1938, it was incorporated as a town and became a city later in the year 1957. The Spanish were the first European settlers in this region who visited it in the sixteenth century. This city covers an area of around 17 sq km and houses a population of approximately 23,000.
Myrtle Beach enjoys a tropical climate with cool and pleasant winters and warm summers, which is a major reason why so many tourists are attracted to the city every year. Though it can be visited throughout the year, the best time to visit Myrtle Beach is winter (December to February). The topography of the city includes beaches, ponds, meadows, hills and a lot of vegetation. The economy of this area is dependent primarily on its tourism industry which has been doing very well.
