North Charleston is an industrial suburb situated to the north of Charleston, in South Carolina, USA. Located on a low, narrow peninsula, the city covers an area of 160.8 sq km.
North Charleston has a humid subtropical climate. Summers are hot and are generally accompanied by thunderstorms. Summer temperatures range from 32°C to 23°C. Winters are short and mild with temperatures ranging from 3°C to 14°C.
Incorporated in 1972, city has a population of around 87,000, with the booming paper industry as a major contributor to the economy.
The most popular landmark of the city is the Coliseum. This multipurpose arena hosts a number of sports and cultural events. The city is lined with antebellum houses and quaint shops. Its serene landscape and peaceful atmosphere makes it a preferred vacation destination.
