The Orangeburg Festival of Roses is being held since 1972 and includes various events like a basscatcher tournament, a river race, numerous sport tournaments and ‘Princess of Rose’ beauty pageant.
The Edisto Memorial Gardens features nearly four-thousand rose plants of at least seventy-five varieties. It also showcases numerous past and present award-winning roses.
The Grand American Coon Hunt is one-of-a-kind event in the city which takes place in early January of each year. Racoon hunters from all over the Southeast America gather in the city for the field trials of the coon dogs. Several exhibits also are featured in during the event.
The IP Stanback Museum & Planetarium is situated on the Campus of South Carolina University and the main exhibition area is amongst the largest in the state. It is capable of hosting various types of presentations. Its main planetarium dome is about 40-feet tall and the auditorium has a capacity of 82-seats.
