South Dakota offers a host of entertainment activities for its visitors. With an evergreen fishing and hunting season, South Dakota has broad expanses of prairie, mountain, lake and river-break country, which provide for some very exciting hiking trails.
Probably the most recognised site is Mount Rushmore in the Black Hills. It boasts of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln, who together make up this ‘shrine of democracy’. The National Caves of Black Hill is the largest system of caves, Jewel Cave National Monument and Wind Cave National Park being an exquisite example.
Events such as the Faulkton Rodeo and Wild West Days offer rodeo, parade, dance, barbeque, carnival and historical tours. The Mount Rushmore Independence Day Celebrations is a musical and entertainment extravaganza, held to commemorate America’s shrine of democracy.
