Elkton Community Museum had been founded in the year 1989 as portion of Lasting Legacy on the part of Elkton’s South Dakota Centennial Celebration. Its basic purpose is that of collection and preservation of local history; for serving as resource for community. On 15th of May, 2004, fifteenth anniversary of Elkton Community Museum and Historical Society was celebrated.
