Gregory can be described as a city located in county of Gregory, South Dakota, US.

As US was heading towards twentieth century, Gregory County got included in to ‘Last Frontier’.  It was then opened to settlers. Ree and Arikara Indians had already vanished by then. Sioux, who had roamed in this area since mid eighteenth century, regulated towards Pine Ridge, Rosebud, Lower Brule, Standing rock, and Cheyenne reservations. Moreover, one of the ambitious congressmen moved ahead with persuasion to President Theodore Roosevelt with regards to opening territory for ‘settlement’.
