Black Hills Mining Museum gives information about the history of the little town of Lead, for more than hundred years’ back, which has been the center of the Black Hills gold mining industry and has one of the largest operating goldmines in the western region.
There are guided tours of the mine and displays life size models and historic photographs of the underground mines.
Homestake Gold Mine Visitor Center is one of the deepest and oldest mines in the western region and is more than eight thousand feet below the town of Lead. This geological attraction serves as an educational and historic memorabilia and has an open cut mining area, an informational video of mining and artifacts.
The President’s Park is a municipal park which has gardened trails and includes sculptures of forty two US Presidents made by the artist David Adickes.
The Terry Peak Ski Resort is a great place to visit near Lead which is a prime skiing terrain.
