Lemmon is a small city that is located in the Perkins County of South Dakota in the United States of America at an elevation of about 2569 feet above the sea level. The city is located at a distance of 33 miles to the east of Hettinger, 30 miles to the west of Morristown and 35 miles to the north of Bison. According to the 2000 census the population in the city was found to be around 1,398. Hence it is a very sparsely populated region in South Dakota. According to the United States Census Bureau the town is supposed to have a total area of just 1.0 square miles which is entirely covered by land and none under water. Education in Lemmon is quite good despite its small area and less population because of an elementary school, high school, and a college located here. The religion followed here Christianity because of the churches located here and the origin of the residents who are mostly Whites. The city experiences a temperature of 20 degrees in June and July whereas in the remaining part of the year the climate is very cool with temperatures in falling below zero.
