South Dakota Cultural Heritage Centre and South Dakota National Guard Museum are the repositories for preserving and showcasing relics, artefacts and memorabilia from the state’s rich historical and cultural legacy. Fort Pierre Chouteau is a National Historic Landmark.
Pierre Aquatic Centre is well-equipped and offers excellent water sports opportunities such as swimming, diving and slides. Other outdoor sports on offer in the town include biking and hiking amidst picturesque environs and exotic flora and fauna.
