Presho is a very small and tiny city situated in the Lyman County of South Dakota in the United States of America. The city is located at the latitude of 43 degrees and a longitude of -100 degrees and at an elevation of 700 meter above the sea level. The city was named after J. S. Presho who was an early colonist from New York. According to the 2000 census the population in the city was found to be around 588. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town is supposed to have a total area of about 0.7 square miles, out of which 0.6 square miles is covered by land and only 0.1 square miles is under water. The population and the area exclusively evokes that it is a very sparsely populated region in South Dakota. Most of the residents here belong to the White or African races hence the commonly followed religion here is Christianity. The town experiences a moderate climate during the day and a cool climate at night. The city experiences very heavy snowfall of around 15 inches in the month of December till the mid of April.
