The USS South Dakota Battleship Memorial was the most decorated battleship of World War II. It was an active participant in each and every major battle in the Pacific from 1942 to 1945. The US Navy Memorial in Sherman Park honors those soldiers and citizens who served and those who died across the vessel. The memorial is open daily from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
