The most important thing about South Dakota is that the weather is extremely chilly and temperatures have known to fall as high as -40 degrees F. Though there are heaters available at all places in the city it would be better to carry all your warm clothes and jackets with you.
Do not carry any fresh food items as they are likely to be detained at the customs. It would be better to carry dry food items, if you must like masalas, tea/coffee powder or spices. Avoid carrying any sharp items such as paper or nail cutters as one could get detained.
However, do remember to carry all essential documents and papers such as passports, airline tickets and insurance papers if any. Carry money in the form of traveler’s checks or credit cards rather than dollars or other currency.
