The town of Wall is situated in Pennington County in South Dakota, USA. The town covers an area of 5.3 sq km and has a population of around 1,500.
Wall was established as a railroad station on the Chicago and North Western Railroad in 1907.The town’s biggest attraction is the Wall Drug Store. Started as a small pharmacy during the Depression, it grew into a popular landmark of the town.
Wall experiences hot, dry summers accompanied by thunderstorms. The average summer temperature is around 28°C. Winters are very cold with an average temperature of 1°C. Extremely high winds and sudden dramatic changes in the weather are common throughout the year.
The town’s landscape is characterized by grassy flatlands and the flood plain of the Badland region.
The Badland National Park is a popular recreational attraction of the town and has helped the town establish a thriving tourism industry.
