Tourist Guide Watertown:

Watertown is the county seat of Codington County in South Dakota, USA. Located on the banks of the Big Sioux River, the city covers an area of 59.8 sq km and has a population of around 30,000.

Watertown has a humid temperate climate. Summers are hot with temperatures ranging from 15°C to 28°C. Winters are very cold and dry with temperatures varying from –3°C to –15°C.

Lake Pelican and Lake Kampeska are the biggest attractions of the city. The lakes and the adjoining parks are perfect settings for family vacations. The landscape and the climate are conducive to activities like fishing, swimming and boating. Activities are also carried on in winter with ice fishing and skating being popular among residents and tourists.

The city’s downtown district is a museum in itself with 65 structures listed on the National Historic Register.  The Terry Redlin Art Center is a popular cultural attraction.
