Not to miss:  Watertown is a place which lies in the eastern region of South Dakota and has more than sixty historic buildings that are included in the National Register of Historic Places.
There are a number of lakes in the vicinity which provide ample opportunities for camping, hunting and fishing.
The other attractions include Bramble Park Zoo, which has an animal collection of more than five hundred mammals, birds and reptiles from all across the world. There is a discovery center which houses a number of amphibians, fishes and reptiles.
Codington County Heritage Museum is ... More a historical museum which was built in 1905 and is situated in the Carnegie library. The museum displays Native American artifacts, paintings and watercolors made by local artists, military articles from the 2nd World War and other natural history artifacts.
Redlin Art Center is a theatrical hall which has an amphitheater which offers video presentations and a dome theater which has educational programs from time to time.

General opinion:  Watertown is the county seat of Codington County in South Dakota, USA. Located on the banks of the Big Sioux River, the city covers an area of 59.8 sq km and has a population of around 30,000.
Watertown has a humid temperate climate. Summers are hot with temperatures ranging from 15°C to 28°C. Winters are very cold and dry with temperatures varying from –3°C to –15°C.
Lake Pelican and Lake Kampeska are the biggest attractions of the city. The lakes and the adjoining parks are perfect settings for family vacations. The landscape and the climate ... More are conducive to activities like fishing, swimming and boating. Activities are also carried on in winter with ice fishing and skating being popular among residents and tourists.
The city’s downtown district is a museum in itself with 65 structures listed on the National Historic Register.  The Terry Redlin Art Center is a popular cultural attraction.
