The city of Whitewood is located in the Central part of South Dakota State which in turn lies in the eastern corner region of the United States. The city is placed under the county of Lawrence. Whitewood city is extremely small area wise. The city has a total area of about 1.7 square kilometers. Small amount of snowfall is observed in this city during the start and end of the year in the months of January, February, November and December. The central period of the year is a bit hot here. The maximum temperature recorded here is about 80 degrees F. The city is very small in size but comprises of beautiful landscapes. The population dwelling in the city of Whitewood is counted out to be around 844 people only according to the 2000 census. The population however is increasing in the recent years in this city.
