McMinn County living heritage museum is one of the most visited places in Athens. The museum was completed in 1982 and opened shortly thereafter with nine rooms filled with more than 2,000 items. The museum is filled with many things starting from life birth materials to the Victorian splendor, and one can also enjoy the whole 26 permanent exhibit areas.
Some other art works that can be enjoyed in the museum includes many decorative Glass Works, period costumes, and the quilts of 19th and early 20th century. This museum even exhibits the annual show which includes mainly glassware of the 19th and 20th century and children’s toys and books.
