The city of Cookeville is situated in Tennessee, USA. Located in the Cumberland Plateau, the city covers an area of 57.1 sq km and has a population of around 28,000.
Due to its elevation, the temperatures are slightly lower than other cities in the region. The climate consists of warm summers, mild winters and breezy falls. The average summer temperature is 31°C, while in winter the average temperature is 2°C.
Founded in 1854, the city was incorporated in Putnam County. It grew as a centre for agricultural trade.
