The city of Dickson is situated in Dickson County in Tennessee, USA. Located in the Cumberland Valley, it covers an area of 42.8 sq km and has a population of 15,000.

Even though the average temperature in summer is 30°C, the weather is quite comfortable. Winter is mild, with temperatures ranging from –2°C to 7°C. Rain is mostly experienced during spring and summer.

Established in 1868 as a railroad town called Smeedsville, the town was renamed Dickson in 1869. Due to the commercial benefits of the railroad and the expertise of industry leaders, the city became the financial and industrial centre of Dickson County.

The city’s rich history and traditions are preserved in its historical monuments and old homes. The city is a great place for the whole family to enjoy their vacations. With its beautiful landscape consisting of rolling hills and flatland, it is not surprising that the city has many picnic areas and parks.
