The Memphis Rock ‘n’ Soul Museum is a museum of music that celebrates and honours the music pioneers who overcame socio-economic and racist obstacles to created music which ultimately impacted the cultural phenomenon of the world.
It has exhibitions that chronicle the birth of Rock and Soul music.
The museum offers music from the 1930’s sharecroppers and field hollers, through the 70’s style, the emergence of Stax, Sun and Hi Records to its present day global music influence.
The main attraction of the museum is the digital audio tour that lasts over three-hundred minutes and includes over one hundred songs, which visitors can listen to at their own pace.
Also on display are 7 galleries with three audio-visual presentations, which have over thirty instruments, forty costumes and numerous musical instruments.
