Memphis University can be described as a ‘learner-centered’ metropolitan research university which makes ways for educational experiences of high quality while having pursued new-fangled knowledge via research, engaged and interdisciplinary scholarship, and artistic expression. This university had been founded under auspices of General Education Bill. It had been enacted in the year 1909 by Tennessee Legislature. Initially, students went on to select gray and blue as school colors; along with tiger as mascot.
