A gorgeous panoramic view of the endlessly stretching Mississippi River awaits visitors at the Tom Lee Park in Memphis, Tennessee. Located at 357 South Riverside Drive, Tom Lee Park is named after Tom Lee, an African American riverworker who saved 32 passengers of a sinking steamboat in 1925.

The parks boasts a spacious 30-acre expanse of land that stretches a mile and a half along the scenic banks of the Mississippi, making for the ideal jog, walk, hike, bike ride or peaceful stroll to enjoy the Memphis skyline or the Arkansas skyline on the opposite side of the river against the evening sunset. Beyond the picturesque landscape, the park is also known for its various special events, specifically the annual Memphis in May celebration held there, as well as the Beale Street Musical Festival and the Sunset Symphony Concert. In addition, Tom Lee Park attracts visitors from all around the world when it plays host to the World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest, which is the world’s largest pork barbecue cooking competition.
