Oakland’s Historic House Museum is a renovated Italian style plantation which was built in the year 1815 which was once occupied by the Union and confederate forces during the civil war and is now included on the list of the National Register of Historic Places.
The Discovery Center is a fun place for children, which has fifteen indoor exhibit areas and twenty acres of wetland habitat. This is a museum with interactive exhibits including live animals and flight simulators for entertaining and educating children.
