Oak Ridge, Tennessee, US is located almost 25 miles towards the northwest of Knoxville. This is an incorporated city in the Roane and Anderson Counties in East Tennessee. There are 5 ridges that are associated with this city that are situated in the northeast to southwest direction. These are named as Haw Ridge, Chestnut Ridge, Pine Ridge, East Fork Ridge and Blackoak Ridge. These ridges are linked with 4 valleys called as Bethel Valley, Bear Creek Valley, Gamble Valley and East Fork Valley. The prominent part of Oak Ridge is situated where Pine Ridge and East Fork Ridge form low and scattered hills. The gross area of the city is 89.9 square miles.

The warmest month is August with a recorded high temperature of 103 degrees Fahrenheit. The coolest month is January with the recorded low temperature of -17 degrees Fahrenheit. The rainfall in March is 5.72 inches and this is the wettest month.

The population of Oak Ridge as per the 2000 census was 27,387.
