The elevation of this city is 912 feet. The total area of the city is 6.9 square miles and all of this is covered by land. Along the Western periphery of Sweetwater, the Interstate 75 passes along. The city is placed along U.S. Route 11 amidst its junction between State Route 322 towards the North and State Route 68 towards the South. Sweetwater lies along Sweetwater Creek. The drainage of this creek has created a lowland area surrounded by low hills which is called as the Sweetwater Valley.
