In the Tennessee State in the United States, Sweetwater is a city in the McMinn and Monroe Counties. In Monroe County, Sweetwater is the city with maximum population. The elevation of this city is 912 feet. The total area of the city is 6.9 square miles and all of this is covered by land. Along the Western periphery of Sweetwater, the Interstate 75 passes along. The city is placed along U.S. Route 11 amidst its junction between State Route 322 towards the North and State Route 68 towards the South. Sweetwater lies along Sweetwater Creek. The drainage of this creek has created a lowland area surrounded by low hills which is called as the Sweetwater Valley.

As per the 2000 census, the population of Sweetwater is 5,568.

The coolest month in Sweetwater is January when the temperature varies from 30.5 to 51.5 degrees Fahrenheit. The warmest month is August and the temperature changes from 70.3 to 95.9 degrees Fahrenheit. The annual average precipitation is 34.85 inches.
