In Tennessee State in Southeastern United States, there exists the Blount County wherein there is a city called Townsend. The elevation of this city is 1,070 feet. The total area of this city is 0.9 square miles and this is entirely land. The city is situated in Tuckaleechee Cove which is one of the many limestone windows located on the Northen base of the Smokies. This Cove is placed between Rich Mountain towards the South and Bates Mountain towards the North. Townsend dominates the Eastern region of Tuckaleechee. The main gateway joining Townsend with Pigeon Forge to the East and Walland to the Northwest in Tuckaleechee Road.
As per the 2000 census, the population of Townsend was 244.
