The Cherokee National Forest is the biggest tract of public land in the Tennessee and is spread over an area of 0.64 million acres. It lies along the North Carolina border from Chattanooga to Bristol. This national forest is in the midst of the Southern Appalachian Mountain Range, which is regarded as one of the most diverse regions in the world. In these mountains, one can find more than 20,000 species of animals and birds.
