A touring festival of music and extreme sports, the Warped Tour is held in several venues like parking lots or fields where the stages are erected for the performances. It is often called the Vans Warped tour, named after the sponsor BMX/skateboarding shoe manufacturer Vans which has sponsored the tour since 1995. The tour was initially started as a platform for punk rock music but later moved on to a diversity of genres. The tour in Houston is held at the Showgrounds at Sam Houston Race Park.
