Book people is an independent bookstore in Austin in Texas. It is the largest bookstore in Texas. Founded in 1970, it has been voted as the best bookstore by the Austin Chronicle each year since 1995. The store was also voted as the best bookstore in US in 2005 by Publishers Weekly magazine. Further, the store is a member of the Austin Independent Business Alliance.
