Downtown Austin, Austin’s central business district, is where the city's skyscrapers are located. It is also the center of government and business. Downtown Austin is dominated by the Texas State Capitol and associated government buildings, the major employers being the corporate headquarters and flagship store of Whole Foods Market and GSD&M Idea City. Also, the Downtown Austin Alliance is a partnership of business and people dedicated towards the promotion of Downtown Austin. Apart from the business perspective, Downtown Austin is known for its treasure of arts, culture and many other interesting things. It is in short a center where government, education, business and people can come together in a unique energetic yet relaxed and creative way.
