The city of Beaumont is located in Jefferson County of Texas State in the United States. It is the county seat of Jefferson County. Beaumont city comes under the metropolitan area of Beaumont - Port Arthur.
Beaumont city, together with Orange and Port Arthur cities, forms the famous Golden Triangle area. The Golden Triangle is the principal industrial area situated on the Gulf Coast. Beaumont is also home to Lamer University.
The city lies next to the thick pine forests in East Texas. Neches River borders the city on the east. As per the 2000 census, the city was populated with 113,866 residents.
