This is a National park located in the city of Texas extending over 1000miles of the Rio Grande / Río Bravo forming a connection between Mexico and the United States through the international boundary and Big Bend National Park spreads approximately 244 miles (393 km) the length of that international boundary.

Big Bend National Park is the largest protected area of the Chihuahan Desert topography and ecology in entire of the United States. There are extended areas used for the protection and study of geologic and paleontologic resources.

There is a great variety and abundance in the Cretaceous and Tertiary fossil organisms living here. Artifacts about 9000 years old have been discovered by the Archaelogists which include historic buildings and landscapes offering graphic images of life existing along the international border during the 1800s.
