Big Bend Ranch State Park
This is state park is spread over an area of 2697 acres making it the largest park located on the Rio Grande in the Brewster County and Presidio County. This park shares the Chihuahuan desert’s ecosystem and the Big Bend Ranch neighbors the Big Bend National Park.
Rio Grande Wild and Scenic River
This majestic and huge river protects 196 mile portion of the Rio Grande in Texas. Parts of Terell, Brewster and Val Verde countries are included in the section of this river.
Around 69 miles of the wild and scenic river remaining is downstream of Big Bend.
Big Bend
The Big Bend is a informal name given to the geographic region in the western part of the state of Texas along the border with Mexico. Sometimes it is defined as a part of Texas. This area is very thinly populated, is dry and rough with the Chisos and the Davis mountain ranges being a part of it. Big Bend includes the Big Bend Ranch State Park to the north and also the Big Bend National Park.
