Boerne is a city in the hill County of Texas, USA. It named after Ludwig Borne, a German author & publicist. It is a part of San Antonio Metropolitan Statistical Area & also the county seat of Kendall County. This city was established in 1849 by German settlers & was laid out in 1852 by Thessen & John James. It is located at 29°47’40” N & 98°43’53” W, 30 miles Northwest of San Antonio. As per the US Census Bureau, its population was 6,178 people in 2000. This city has total area of 6.1 square miles of which 5.8 square miles is of land & the remaining 0.3 square miles is covered by water.
Boerne’s climate is hot during the summer with temperatures reaching 80°F & cold during winters with temperatures reaching 40°F. The warmest & coldest months of the year are August & January with average maximum & minimum temperatures of 92.6°F & 34.3°F respectively. Boerne gets an average precipitation of 37.36 inches whereas rainfall is evenly distributed throughout the year with June being the wettest month with an average rainfall of 4.77 inches.
