The Dallas Museum of Art’s history began with the establishment in 1903 of the Dallas Art Association, which initially exhibited paintings in the Dallas Public Library. In 1909, the association’s collection received a permanent home in the Free Public Art Gallery of Dallas, located in Fair Park.The Museum’s collections include the @20 million Hamon Building collection and the $38 million Wendy and Emery Reves collection, along with 400 pieces of Egyptian and Nubian art.
The Dallas Museum of Art features an outstanding collection of more than 23,000 works of art from around the world, from ancient to modern times. This online database currently contains over 4,900 objects from the collection at the Dallas Museum of Art.
