Downtown Dallas is the main business district situated in Dallas. It is situated in the geographic center of the city. This area is also officially called as downtown as it is bounded by downtown freeway loop. Further, this neighborhood achieved its notoriety in 1963 when President John F Kennedy got assassinated.  The population as per the 2000 census was 1,654 and 2005 estimates reached to 5,646. It is estimated that by 2010 it will reach 10,446 and by 2030, it will be 16,337. Downtown Dallas is the principle advocate, champion and also the steward of Downtown. It has repositioned itself in recent years as the largest employment center in North of Texas and also a premier destination to live, shop, dine and be entertained.
