El Campo, Texas, US is the largest city in Wharton County. It is located about sixty seven miles towards the South West of Houston, Texas and forty eight miles towards the South West of Sugar Land, Texas. The total area of the city was 7.5 square miles and this is entirely land. The city is based on State Highway 71 and U.S. Highway 59. It is thirteen miles towards the southwest of Wharton. Water is provided by Lower Colorado River Authority.
The population of the city as per the 2000 census was 10,945. Per square mile about 1465.8 people live in this city. There are people from various races in this region.
The hottest period of the year is during July and August when the temperature soars to over 90 degrees Fahrenheit. The coolest period of the year is during December and January when the temperature drops to 40 degrees Fahrenheit. The precipitation crosses 5 inches during May and September and these are the wettest months.
