Humble city is situated in Harris County in Texas. This city is within the Houston-Sugar Land-Baytown metropolitan area. The city got its name from one of the original settler named Pleasant Smith “Plez” Humble, who was from England. He opened his first post office in his house which later served as justice of the peace. The correct pronunciation is “umble” with a silent H. The town of Humble was incorporated in 1933.
As per the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 9.9 square miles of land.
As per the 2000 census, the city population was 14,579 people. As of 2009, the population reached 14,977 people. Since 2000, it had a growth of 2.39 percent.
