The Kerrville Folk Festival is a musical festival, held for almost 18 consecutive days in late spring or early summer season at Quiet Valley Ranch near Kerrville. This event is known as the longest continuous running music festival in North America. One of the high points of this festival since its conception is the annual new folk competition. Here, there are 32 finalists who get selected from 800 entries and share two of their original songs. The fest has run on a yearly basis ever since 1972.
