Kerrville city is situated in Kerr County in Texas. This city is named after James Kerr, who was a major in the Texas Revolution and also a friend of Joshua Brown, the settler and founder, who came here in 1840s to open a shingle making business. Archeological evidence show that humans dwelled here as early as 10,000 years ago.

This city is best known for its beautiful parks, hunting rancher, camps, and RV parks.

The population was 20,425 people as per the 2000 census.

According to the United States Census Bureau, this city has a total area of 16.9 square miles, out of which 16.7 square miles is land and 0.2 square miles is water.
