In 1939, Dr. B. E. Masters the dean of Kilgore College decided that this college needed an organization which can attract young women to the college. So he brought Miss Gussie Nell Davis to the college to create something special. Her creation and gift to the world was the Kilgore College Rangerettes. This group brought show business to the football gridiron, and provided entertainment for the games.
