Most of the shops in Laredo offer a fifty percent discount on the things sold. Do remember to carry a pair of shorts and sleeveless tops as the weather is quite hot here and the heat can get to you especially in the month of August.
Also remember to pack your sunglasses, hats and sunscreen lotions to prevent heat burns.
While crossing the Rio Grande River across the Texas and Mexico border an ID card is required and not necessarily a passport or visa. Also avoid taking photos of the bridge as your camera could get confiscated.
There are people crossing this river on a daily basis for work or as a part of their routine. While shopping at the Mexican markets do not forget to bargain as negotiation is a friendly part of their culture.
The commonly spoken languages here are Spanish or English.
