Mc Kinney lies in the county seat of Collin County in Texas in the United States.

The city covers a total area of 58.5 sq miles and had a population of 102,853 people as per the 2006 census.  This has grown to over 110,000 as of now and most of them are well educated.

This rapid development is because of the location of the city in the suburban region to the north of Dallas. The city also has a long history of sports with several soccer and baseball league.

The city experiences a continental climate with hot summers and cold winters. The winters can be very severe at times with frequent snowfall. The city has a diverse economy with a mixture of manufacturing, retail and office.
