As a result, the population of the city has reached 136,750 residents, as of 2007 census. The city is stretches across an area of 43.5 sq. miles.
Since, the city of Mesquite is located in the eastern half of Texas State; it experiences humid continental weather conditions. With the influence of such a climate, the summers here are humid and hot and winters are mild.
At times, the winters can be extreme. Tourists can visit at any time throughout the year. However, late winters are recommended.
