Located 30 miles south of Houston the Brazos Bend State Park covers an area of nearly 5000 acres. The eastern boundary of the park faces the Brazos River. The archeological material in the park is proof of it being used by the prehistoric people as early as 300 BC. The park was open to public in 1984. The activities in the park include hiking, camping, biking etc along its wide trails.
The park also has a Nature Center with a unique “hands on” alligator discovery area and an Observatory.
